Meet the Team

Born and raised in Des Moines. Lived in the metro my entire life. I LOVE helping homeowners improve the exterior of their homes which is why I started BIG Roofing. Making the process of repairing/improving your home as easy and stress free as possible for the homeowner is something we work hard at each and every day.

TJ was born and raised in small-town Nebraska, where a sense-of-community was just the standard way of life. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution and minor in Psychology, TJ entered the construction industry working with one of the nation’s largest distributors of building materials. This journey led this Nebraska-native to manage a branch here in Des Moines. After nine years in the Industry, TJ made a career change to join the BIG Roofing team. TJ quickly realized this company was founded and operated on the core-values that resonated most with him: trust, honesty, integrity, and relationships. “My biggest career goal, biggest life goal, is that I want to help people solve problems. I know that I will achieve this every day with BIG Roofing.” TJ and his fiancé Jenna have three kids. In his free-time TJ enjoys playing rec softball, volleyball, and basketball; golfing; firing up the grill with good friends and cold drinks, and cheering on his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers. GBR!

Chuy was born and raised in Illinois. After graduating high school, he had the honor of serving in the United States Marine Corps with the Purple Foxes during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Their motto "Give A Shit" has made a lasting impact on how Chuy approaches his life. After leaving the Marine Corps he spent 14 years with Principal Financial Group in various customer-facing roles making his clients' satisfaction his number one priority.

Brandon was born, and raised in Altoona. After graduating from Southeast Polk High School, he attended Grand View University where he played Football, and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing and Masters Degree in Sport Management. Brandon has many years of construction experience working as a Senior Project Manager for a commercial general contractor in the Des Moines area.

Born and raised on a farm in Northwest Iowa and learned early the value of hard work and commitment to my convictions. Left Iowa to go to school and play baseball in Arizona. From there I ended up in California for 15 years, then Texas for 10 before moving back to Iowa and Des Moines in 2017.

I was born and raised in Iowa City and graduated from the University of Iowa. In 2015 I moved to West Des Moines to become an elementary school teacher and coach football. When I am not teaching and coaching I am working at Big Roofing as a project manager.

My name is David but I go by Matt. I was born in Des Moines and still reside here with my two amazing children and our fluffy dog Arthur. I'm a proud Des Moines public school alum graduating from Roosevelt. I received my Accounting Degree from Grand View College in 2008. I was an accountant for 11 years before following my heart to find a career that I could work directly with the community and provide a quality service that I could be proud of. I found that with the local company BIG Roofing. A company that truly puts our customers first and backs it up with quality.
